Characters & NPCs · Source: Fallout: New Vegas — 'Ring-a-Ding-Ding!' quest dialogue and Tops casino records

Overview

SUBJECT: Benny, surname withheld, a Chairman of the Tops casino and architect of the Goodsprings Cemetery ambush. Current status: deceased, imprisoned, or at large, contingent on Courier action. The subject is the primary antagonist of the Courier's early career.

History & Background

A gambler and operator who rose through the Chairmen, one of the three families licensed by Mr. House, the subject identified the Platinum Chip's significance and arranged its interception. Hiring Great Khan muscle, the subject ambushed the Courier at Goodsprings Cemetery, executed a point-blank headshot, and departed with the chip, intending to use it to seize control of the securitron network and supplant House. The plan proceeded on the assumption of a corpse that declined to remain one.

Personality & Traits

Behavioral profile: vain, theatrical, and overconfident. The subject favors tailored suits, a pompadour, and the catchphrase 'ring-a-ding,' deploying charm as a weapon and underestimating threats he regards as beneath him. Carries Maria, a gold-plated 9mm pistol engraved with his name.

Role in the Wasteland

The subject's possession of the Platinum Chip places him at the center of the Mojave's power struggle until the Courier recovers it. If spared, the subject flees to Caesar's Fort seeking Legion patronage, where his fate is decided by Caesar and the Courier. His scheme, though it failed, triggered the chain of events that reshaped the Mojave.

Notable Appearances
