The Think Tank

Technology & Robotics · Source: Fallout: New Vegas (Old World Blues DLC)

Overview

The Think Tank is the collective of brilliant, eccentric pre-war scientists of Big Mountain Research Center, preserved as disembodied brains in mobile robotic chassis. They are the architects of the experiments that define the Old World Blues expansion.

History & Development

Before the war, the Big MT scientists pursued unrestricted research into weapons, robotics, and biotechnology. To survive, they transferred their consciousnesses into brain jars mounted on hover units, remaining active for over two centuries. After the war, they continued their experiments, terrorizing the Mojave with their creations.

Technical Specifications

Each member operates from a preservative-filled brain jar equipped with a hover unit and manipulator arms. The collective retains vast databases of pre-war research, including the powerful technologies stored in Big MT's X- facilities. Their bickering personalities mask a shared ruthlessness about scientific progress.

Wasteland Usage & Variants

The Think Tank directs the Courier through the Old World Blues narrative, upgrading the player with experimental implants. Their creations include lobotomites, nightstalkers, and cazadores. The Sink, a sentient appliance AI, is a lesser offshoot of their work.

Notable Appearances

The Think Tank appears exclusively in Fallout: New Vegas's Old World Blues DLC, with Dr. Klein, Dr. Dala, Dr. 0, Dr. Borous, and Dr. Mobius as the principal personalities.
