Vault-Tec Workshop Systems

Technology & Robotics · Source: Fallout 4 (Vault-Tec Workshop DLC), Fallout 76

Overview

Vault-Tec's workshop systems encompass the design, construction, and management technology behind the vault network, from massive vault doors to overseer management software. These systems let wastelanders build functioning vaults of their own.

History & Development

Vault-Tec perfected modular vault construction in the decades before the war, standardizing reactors, atriums, and living quarters into installable components. Its population management technology, used to run social experiments on residents, is infamous. The Vault-Tec Workshop DLC provides pre-war tools to construct personal vaults in the Commonwealth.

Technical Specifications

Vault components include blast doors, atrium scaffolding, reactors, and full interior furnishings, all designed for rapid underground assembly. The Overseer's terminal suite handles population tracking, welfare monitoring, and experiment control, with an optional robotic overseer. Construction is directed via the Vault-Tec Workshop's building terminal.

Wasteland Usage & Variants

Players can excavate and outfit vaults beneath the Commonwealth, recruiting settlers and even running their own light experiments. Existing vaults across the wastes showcase the system's durability, from Vault 111's cryo facility to Vault 88's unfinished expansion. Scavenged vault tech remains highly sought after.

Notable Appearances

Vault-Tec Workshop Systems appear throughout Fallout 4, most directly in the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC and the settlement of Vault 88.
