Overview
RobCo Industries, founded by Robert House in 2062, was one of pre-war America's premier robotics and computing companies. RobCo products included terminals, Protectron robots, Robobrains, and the Securitron line. The company became the backbone of automated life in the United States, with RobCo hardware found nearly everywhere.
History & Pre-War Operations
RobCo grew rapidly from House's early inventions, landing lucrative government contracts and licensing deals, including supplying the Pip-Boy and computer systems for Vault-Tec's vaults. By the 2070s RobCo was a global leader in robotics and was developing the Securitron line for the city of Las Vegas. House froze himself in cryogenic storage in the Lucky 38 in 2074, leaving the company under new management.
Products & Technology
RobCo's catalog included Protectron security robots, Robobrains (robots powered by human brains), Assaultron combat units, and Securitrons for the New Vegas Strip. Its terminal operating system and holotape formats became the wasteland's standard computing interface. RobCo also produced consumer robotics and industrial automation equipment.
Post-War Legacy
After the war, RobCo's surviving facilities, including locations in the Mojave and the Commonwealth, continued producing automated threats and treasures. Mr. House, still alive in the Lucky 38, retained control of the Securitron network and the company's intellectual property, becoming the dominant power of New Vegas. RobCo terminals and robots are among the most common technology in the wasteland.
Notable Appearances
RobCo appears in Fallout: New Vegas (Securitrons, the Strip), Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 (RobCo facilities and terminals), and Fallout 76 (RobCo Research Center). RobCo technology is so widespread that its terminals and holotape formats effectively define wasteland computing.
