Overview

Poseidon Energy was a pre-war energy corporation that supplied power to much of the American Southwest and beyond. It operated power plants, oil rigs, and solar facilities, including the famous Poseidon Oil Rig and HELIOS One. After the war, its infrastructure became strategic prizes.

History & Pre-War Operations

Poseidon Energy managed an extensive energy portfolio, from offshore oil platforms to the HELIOS One solar power plant in the Mojave. The corporation worked closely with the federal government, which gave it privileged access to national defense resources. Its oil rig off the California coast was refitted into a major government facility.

Products & Technology

Poseidon's operations spanned oil extraction, fusion and fission power generation, and advanced solar technology. HELIOS One's array and the oil rig's systems represented the cutting edge of pre-war energy infrastructure. The company also managed the PoseidoNet communications network.

Post-War Legacy

The Poseidon Oil Rig became the Enclave's base of operations in Fallout 2 before its destruction. HELIOS One was fought over by the NCR and Caesar's Legion, with Archimedes' orbital weapon still hidden within. Poseidon power plants in the Capital Wasteland remain radioactive ruins infested with wildlife.

Notable Appearances

Poseidon Energy appears in Fallout 2 (the oil rig), Fallout: New Vegas (HELIOS One), and Fallout 3 (Poseidon Energy plant). Its facilities anchor several major faction conflicts across two decades of wasteland history.
