Junk Jet
Weapons & Gear · Source: Fallout 4 (base game and Automatron DLC)
Overview
The Junk Jet is an improvised weapon that fires scrap metal and debris at high velocity. It turns the wasteland's endless garbage into a deadly, if chaotic, arsenal.
History & Development
The Junk Jet was cobbled together by wasteland tinkerers who had more junk than ammunition. Its design spread through the Commonwealth as a practical solution to ammo scarcity. The Automatron DLC later featured a refined version used by the Mechanist's forces.
Technical Specifications
The weapon accepts virtually any junk item as ammunition, launching it with compressed air or explosive charges. Damage depends on the weight and density of the projectile, with everything from tin cans to typewriters being viable. It consumes junk rapidly and is loud and imprecise.
Wasteland Usage & Variants
Scavengers and raiders use Junk Jets to convert trash into firepower, while crafters upgrade them with drum magazines and better propulsion. The RobCo-designed version featured in the Automatron DLC is a more refined variant. It is the ultimate expression of wasteland resourcefulness.
Notable Appearances
The Junk Jet appears in Fallout 4 and its Automatron DLC, with memorable use by the Mechanist's forces.
