Night Stalker

Night stalkers are among the most disturbing creatures in the Mojave Wasteland — a hybrid species created at the Big MT research facility that combines canine (or possibly coyote) DNA with rattlesnake genetics, producing a pack-hunting predator with the speed and coordination of a wolf and the venom delivery system of a pit viper. Dr. Borous of the Think Tank is credited with their creation as part of his broader cazador and biological weapons research program.
Physically, a night stalker resembles a furred canine from the torso forward and a scaled, serpentine creature from the midsection back, with the head of a rattlesnake fused to its tail. This two-headed configuration — one canine, one reptilian — allows the creature to attack in multiple directions simultaneously: the canine head can bite and hold prey while the snake tail delivers venomous strikes. The snake head is semi-autonomous, operating on a distributed nervous system that allows it to react independently of the main body's movement.
Night stalkers hunt in packs of three to eight individuals, using pack tactics that equal or exceed those of wolves and mongrels. They are primarily nocturnal, as their name suggests, and their venom — derived from rattlesnake hemotoxin — causes rapid tissue necrosis, internal bleeding, and progressive paralysis. Night stalker blood can be used to craft antivenom, and their venom glands are valuable to wasteland chemists for crafting combat drugs that enhance reflexes at the cost of systemic toxicity.
Night stalkers originally escaped Big MT containment and established breeding populations in the Mojave, where they have become one of the region's most feared predators. They are particularly prevalent in caves, abandoned mines, and other dark, enclosed spaces that favor their nocturnal ambush tactics.
