The White Glove Society

Factions & Armies · Source: Fallout: New Vegas (2010), quest 'Beyond the Beef'

Overview

The White Glove Society is the most exclusive family on the New Vegas Strip, running the Ultra-Luxe casino — and hiding a terrible secret: its oldest members are cannibals, and the old ways are not as dead as they pretend.

History & Background

The Society traces its roots to pre-war high society, preserving an image of elegance and refinement in the wasteland's gaudiest city. Under the reformed leadership of Marjorie, the family abandoned its cannibal past. But a faction of 'thin' traditionalists, led by the ambitious Mortimer, longs to return to the old rites — and sees the visiting rancher Heck Gunderson as the perfect feast.

Details & Timeline

2281: the Courier investigates the disappearance of Heck Gunderson's son in the Ultra-Luxe, uncovering Mortimer's plot to serve Gunderson at a private banquet. The player can expose the conspiracy to Marjorie, destroy the Society's reputation, or even let the ritual proceed. The family's future — and its place on the Strip — hangs on the Courier's judgment.

Wasteland Significance

The White Glove Society's secret is a mirror held to New Vegas itself: beneath the silk and champagne, the city's elite are capable of anything. Their scandal could topple the Strip's fragile order, while their gratitude can buy the Courier one of the Strip's most powerful allies.
